What is It?

What is Growing Up Through History Camp?

Join us for a week of fun and games at Growing Up Through History Camp! Each day campers experience the past as though it were really there! With authentic clothing, specially catered food, and fun and friendly staff your children will not only see the old ways but face it themselves.

Each morning campers will attend classes based on the time period of the day. These lessons vary in subject such as “Curing Small Illnesses” to “What It’s Really Like to Be Free”. Several guest speakers will talk to the girls about the emphasis of the topic and how to apply their newly acquired knowledge to real life.
After the morning’s lessons each child will attend a few activities that would have been a pastime for girls growing up in early America. From canoeing to cooking, to quilting and airplanes, boredom will certainly not be a problem! There will be exciting events in the evenings such as a Spanish Fandango and a speech on Women’s Rights. Unexpected visits from far away travelers at unknown times of the day, and mysteries to solve from many years ago only add to the excitement.

All this enthusiasm is not happening without God’s presence though. Prayer along with worship is an everyday affair.

Just imagine! All this and more could be your child’s adventure. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity of a lifetime!

Camp GUTH's theme verse is Romans 15:4.
It says "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope."

The theme time periods of 2014 were as above.

We Love Animals!

Horses!

We were extremely thrilled to have a horsemanship class on our colonial day last summer! Thank you to the Nichols family!

 Goats!

Guth & GUTH

A big thank you to the Sorensen Family! They brought several of their farm animals for the campers to care for. Collecting eggs and milking goats quickly became the favorite chores! Two kids, baby goats, were even born during the week of camp. Campers voted on names for the twin goats. The winning names were Guth for the girl, and GUTH for the boy!
Chloe, in red shirt above, was a camper and CIT at camp. Here she gives a mini veterinary speech to the girls along with her mother!
