Meet Our Staff!

Kesslyn Fleck - Camp Director

"I LOVE history! It is so amazing to see how God has worked throughout every era of our world's past! I hope that just like our ancestors, I too can make a difference in the lives of others. I enjoy sewing my own historical costumes, and writing in calligraphy. I spend many hours playing guitar, piano, ukulele, and singing. I like to write my own songs. I am a big fan of sports, especially volleyball, track, and gymnastics."

Christina Matiyevskiy - Girls Dean

"My name is Christina Matiyevskiy and I am married to an awesome tall guy named Yan.  I teach 4th grade at Madison Elementary in Spokane, WA.  One of my favorite things to do is dress up and pretend I am living in the past. I especially love to dress up like the characters from the Anne of Green Gables series. I also like to laugh!"

Counselors:

Emma Khoeler - Cabin 1 (Ages 7 - 9)

"I go to an alternative school. That means I am basically home-schooled, but I go to a school two to three days each week. I play tennis, piano, and marimbas. Whenever I get the chance, I love to sew and design. I enjoy going to church, and I like spending time with my family and friends!"

Summer Davis - Cabin 3 (Age 11)

"Well, I love the outdoors. I love hiking, biking, canoeing and camping. Anything that involves nature. Music is a huge part of my life as well. I love creating and playing music, especially with guitar. Guitar is a big part of me! Aside from all of this though, Jesus is my number one. Having that Jesus time is everything to me, and if I get to share that with others... Then what more could I ask for? That's why I see opportunities like this camp as an amazing way to show Jesus, especially to young people. :)"

KateLyn Ruud - Cabin 3 (Age 11)

"I love adventure, running, biking, rollerblading, swimming, rock climbing, working out, smoothies, diving, and working with kids/people. I like to listen to people, and to talk about God and what He has done in my life. I want to be a pilot for Search and Rescue, a youth pastor, and a crime psychologist. I also enjoy leading out as a leader. I can be quiet at times, but I enjoy people!"

Claire Ecklund - Cabin 4 (Ages 12 - 13)

"Hi my name is Claire Ecklund!  I'm 16 years old and just finished my junior year of high school. I am involved in choir and I play soccer,  basketball, and track and have been involved with multiple summer camps. I have also been a babysitter for a few years. I'm looking forward to spending a week getting to know all the campers and growing up through history!"

"I love to knit, crochet, sew, read, and do lots of outdoor activities. Kesslyn, the Camp Director, has succeeded in giving me her "history bug", and has gotten me more excited about history, historical costumes, and this camp!"
